Key Terms in Dental Insurance

 

Preventative Service:  refers to charges for standard recall examination, including scaling, polishing of teeth, and fluoride treatment.

Basic Service: refers to charges for restorations (fillings) and endodontic (root of tooth) treatment.

Major Service: refers to charges for extensive restorations (crowns) and prosthodontic (denture / bridge) treatment.

Orthodontic Services: refers to charges for spacers (braces) and related treatment.

*1 unit equivalent to 15 minutes of time.
